Back to the bench.
I spent a few days after returning home from vacation clearing out my studio and reworking my work space. It felt really good (and filled up 3 trash cans and a few recycle bins) to get that done. Felt even better to get back to my bench and play with some beads. I just love this choker. Delicate 12k gold sets off tiny faceted spinel beads and watermelon tourmaline drops. So tempted to keep it for myself, but it is destined for Etsy and to delight some lucky wearer. This pretty, on the other hand, will be hitting the road with me and going to shows, maybe to delight some other person. Aquamarines separate more of those delicate, gorgeous spinel beads and check out those faceted rose quartz drops. So. Darn. Pretty. No, really. See? I was browsing around this really cute bead store in Arcata, CA and discovered a stone I’ve never seen before. Aquaterra jasper .
Bestest, Most Easiest, Most Makes Me Smile Project Ever
I think I am all decision-ed out.) My friend Beth suggested I go to The Bead Store After all, she said, you don’t want to have a Sex and the City situation going on. I knew, immediately and exactly, what she was thinkingwhen Samantha broke her bracelet and the beads went flying everywhere at Charlotte’s wedding. Yeah, that would be bad. So since I had no idea how to add a clasp to these strands or even what type of string to use (how about some striped twine?), and I wanted the bracelet to fit just right and not fly off my wrist, I took myself over to The Bead Store The very helpful manager told me I could string it myself for seven dollars (cost of clasp and wire, plus finishing fee for her to add the clasp for me) or she could do the whole thing for about $25. I told her I could do it myself if she helped me, and help she did! Since the rhinestone piece was a broach with a sturdy pin intact, I just threaded the wire under the pin back and started stringing pearls.

She added a fancy clasp that held each of the three pearl strands even and secure, and voila! Seriously, this project took around twenty minutes, cost me about $10 (for pearls, wire, clasp, and finishing help), and resulted in a beautiful and sentimental bracelet for me to rock on my wedding dayand my something old! Thanks to The Bead Store ! I wish all wedding projects could be so painless. If you live in the Raleigh .
Wonderful Wednesday
Is it really Wednesday already? Where did the week go? Well, IT IS Wednesday and IT IS a WONDERFUL day, so here we go!! The last thing we did on our little mini vacation was ‘go our separate ways’! Yep! Hubby and kids went to Wild Waters Water Park. Although the kids had a wonderful time, because I wasn’t there, there aren’t any photos! There were MANY stories and even my little Monster had NO fear when it came to climbing up 30+ feet into the air .

What To Do On A Sunday
This is a picture I took of a gorgeous felted bowl at The Craft and Hobby Show. I have it on my desk top so I see it all the time. I would love to make something like it. I have the felt, the tools and the embellishments. I just don’t have the time! I have a project to complete and photograph and then the outdoor chores call. It is cool and overcast in my neck of the woods. I would be crazy not to use that to my advantage and head out to the garden for some much needed weeding. So felt bowl…see you this winter! If you are enjoying your day indoors, here are some wonderful bead blogger links! Snap out of it, Jean! There’s beading to be done! Cake X 2
Another round of the Sizzix ScoreBoard blog hop is upon us. This time, we’re using the cake die. This die is great alone, but I added part of the ScoreBoard Cupcake (hence the title, Cake X 2) die as well. Check out all the other ideas from designers listed below, then go to Eileen Hull’s Blog to vote for your favorite. The theme this time was to use our favorite….color, technique, etc. I love the chocolate and peach combo as well as Cuttlebug textures, so that’s what I used. The pearls were from my stash, given to me by a dear friend whose mother owned a bead store in the ’70s. I wrapped the beads around the cake base, adhering with Be Creative? double stick tape. I draped white pearls around the edge to simulate icing trim. The inside was lined with Bohemia paper which had been spritzed with Tattered Angels Golden Autumn to get the proper color. All edges were inked with Chestnut Roan Colorbox ink.

I am a Jewelryaholic.
[A subdued gasp from the crowd] The next day I went to a bead store. I bought 4 different kinds of pliers. I only needed three, but I bought four. Four. I bought really pretty stones. They felt so good in my hands. What harm could it do, I thought to myself, just a little hobby. I showed the neighbor lady at the school bus stop what I made at the first class. Can you make me one? she asked, glancing sideways in both directions. How much would it be?

This is YOUR moment in the BHM sun. Try to stay focused, hun. Let’s see some of your own correspondence…… What’s wrong with asking to do a review? In fact, I’ll do one for you. Send me some hair and I’ll run it up the street to the Indian Hospital, the Native American bead store, the neigborhood park, bus stop, and the liquor store. I’ll compare it to what you offer and let the ladies know if you’re genuine. I’ll also be comparing it to the Indian and Chinese textures I already own.Exactly! Lets not forget that shes also selling Nativecornian Hair and charging almost as much as Arjuju and a damn $75.00 fee. WTF? I’m still convinced somebody slipped this heffa Kevin CN’s info and now she in business!
